I’m finally being allowed back out in public again! Coming (a frankly ridiculous) four years since I last appeared at an in-person event, I’m very happy to announce that I’ll be a guest at NERD FRIGHT FEST at the Boiler Shop in Newcastle on 9 October from 10am – 4pm. Tickets are available here. Hope to see you there!
THIS IS ACE! Joseph Freeman’s MIDSUMMER MACABRE is now live. Settle back for the next couple of hours and enjoy readings from PETER ADKINS, ALISON MOORE, JOE, TIM LEBBON, and myself.
The show was brilliantly put together by Joe, and I want to thank him for inviting me to be a part of it. I hope you enjoy it.
Very pleased to announce that I’ll be appearing (virtually) at my friend Joseph Freeman‘s MIDSUMMER MACABRE event alongside Peter Atkins, Tim Lebbon, Alison Moore, and Joseph himself. It takes place online from 1pm UK time on Saturday 25 June.
I chose one of my foulest, seediest short stories to read (it’s one from THE LAST BIG THING collection, if you’re interested), and recorded it in an empty attic a couple of months back. It’s a suitably grubby, audio-visual treat! ivermectin anemia
I hope you can tune in. Visit www.josephfreeman.co.uk on the day to watch.
Very excited to announce I’ll be a guest at FOR THE LOVE OF HORROR, a brand new event taking place on October 20 and 21 in Manchester. For more information and ticket details, click here. There’s a stunning guest list, including the inimitable DANNY TREJO, stars from HALLOWEEN, CHILD’S PLAY, NIGHTBREED and much more.
A quick post to tell you about a couple of events which are coming up. On 24 and 25 February I’ll be heading back to Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham, for the BIRMINGHAM HORROR CON. It’s always a pleasure to take part in a hometown event, and this time I have the honour of signing alongside such horror luminaries as Simon Clarke and Tim Lebbon. I’m very much looking forward to it, and I hope some of you are able to make it to pick up a copy of ONE OF US WILL BE DEAD BY MORNING, YEAR OF THE ZOMBIE and more. Tickets are available here and you can find out more about the event on Facebook.
And on 30 June I’ll be heading to London for my first convention in the capital since, I think, 2009. The LONDON HORROR CON is another show from Vic Wright and the Horrorcon team, so you know it’ll be a blast. The event takes place on 30 June and 1 July at Printworks London, Surrey Quays Road. Tickets are here, and more details are here and here.
I’ll be a guest at the LIVERPOOL HORROR CON on 7th and 8th October at the Exhibition Centre, Kings Dock, Liverpool. There’s a cracking guest list, tons of exhibitors, and loads more besides. Tickets are available here and I hope to see some of you there.
Hope to see you at the BIRMINGHAM HORROR CONVENTION at Edgbaston Stadium this Saturday. I’ll be there along with a host of horror luminaries, including stars of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, FRIDAY THE 13th and HALLOWEEN movies, and some excellent author chums like ADAM NEVILL, MATT SHAW, PETER MCKEIRNON, ADAM MILLARD and many others. It promises to be an absolute cracker of an event. Tickets are still available – click here for more information.
Join me tomorrow for my annual pilgrimage to the Phoenix Arts Centre, Leicester, for the UK FESTIVAL OF ZOMBIE CULTURE. It’s always an absolute blast, and this year the movies showing are: NIGHT OF SOMETHING STRANGE, PLAN Z, TRAIN TO BUSAN (can’t wait for that one), ATTACK OF THE LEDERHOSEN ZOMBIES and PEELERS. Tickets are available direct from the Phoenix here.
As I was saying the other day, time flies. It feels like only five minutes, but it’s five years this month since THEM OR US, the final Danny McCoyne HATER book, was released (note the careful wording there… the final Danny McCoyne book – the HATER story takes a new direction in next year’s ONE OF US WILL BE DEAD BY MORNING).
You might remember, THEM OR US is set in Lowestoft, the most easterly town in the UK. I launched the book there back in 2011 with a special event at the library (which features in the novel). We had a great time and, as a result, the annual HORROR IN THE EAST convention was born. After a sabbatical last year, I’m thrilled that the event is back. It’s free, and it’s this Saturday. Hope to see you there.
Don’t forget, this weekend I’ll be a guest at HORROR EXPO IRELAND in Dublin. Tickets are going fast, so if you want to be there, you’d best get in quick. It’ll be well worth the price of admission, with twelve hours of horror lined up including panels, readings, screenings, and paranormal investigations. Find out more on Facebook and Twitter, and check out this article from PureM Zine. Hope to see some of you there.
