I had a bloody good time talking to bloody Mark Goddard about some bloody good books on the BLOODY GOOD READS podcast. My choices won’t surprise anyone who’s read any interviews with me previously – I AM LEGEND, DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS and DOMAIN. I also got to chat about my past, current and future work – from AUTUMN to HATER to STRANGERS to THE BLEED (taking a brief detour along the way to discuss the merits of the AUTUMN movie).
I had a great time recently being interviewed by MADELEINE D’ESTE for her podcast WRITE THROUGH THE ROOF. It’s an excellent show designed for writers who want to improve their craft. Each episode, a different writer shares their tip for what took their writing to the next level. Previous guests have included Gareth L. Powell, Dave Hutchinson and Garth Nix. Please listen in!
I’m really excited that HATER is the first book to be featured on IN THE SHEETS, a new podcast from Brendan Cooney. Each month, Brendan and his audience will pick two books to read, review, and discuss. The author will introduce the book at the beginning of the month, then take part in an extended podcast towards the end of the month to answer any questions and meet the readers.
Brendan’s been a long-time supporter of my work, and I’m honoured he’s chosen HATER as the first book for this new venture. You can hear Brendan and I talking about the book on episode one.
This isn’t designed to be a passive experience, so please get involved. Join the IN THE SHEETS Goodreads group, subscribe to the podcast, and follow the discussion on Twitter and Facebook. I hope I get the chance to talk to some of you about the book. If you don’t make it this time, make sure you register for updates because I’ll be back in the next couple of months to do the same thing with ONE OF US WILL BE DEAD BY MORNING.
Just a few chapters left to go now in the free serialisation of STRAIGHT TO YOU at WATTPAD. The second of this week’s chapters is now available to read, and Steven begins to realise the full enormity of what’s happening to the world around him (hence the clickbait title of this post). Click here to read.
In other news, I’d like to make you aware of a great new edition of the THIS IS HORROR podcast wherein a load of great authors (and me) offer up their most valuable piece of writing advice. Listen here or click the graphic below.
I had an absolute blast taking part in the live 100th THIS IS HORROR podcast. It was a real laugh, very interactive, and we covered all manner of topics including the HATER movie, the new HATER trilogy, mental health issues and writing, Year of the Zombie, and many other things. We also talked about the current serialisation of STRAIGHT TO YOU on Wattpad, and this is the perfect time to tell you that the second of this week’s chapters has now been added for your (free) reading pleasure.
A quick reminder of a couple of live events coming up towards the end of February.
On Saturday 21 at 3:00pm I’ll be at SOUTHCART BOOKS in Walsall alongside Wayne Simmons. We’ll be doing one of our famous ‘double-headers’ – talking, reading, signing books and taking questions about our work and the business of writing in general. More details can be found here. And as you can see from the picture to the right, creepy store mascot Claude the Clown is already getting in the mood.
A few days later on Tuesday 24 at 10:00pm (subject to confirmation), I’ll be taking part in the first ever live THIS IS HORROR podcast. You can find more information about the show here, and please send in any questions you’d like answered. We’ll do our best to get through as many of them as we can. Get yourself in the mood by listening to our free JOE AND ME audiobook, and while you’re at it, why not subscribe to the This is Horror podcast using the following links: iTunes / RSS
James Melzer, author of The Zombie Chronicles (coming from Permuted Press and Pocket Books in 2010), recently interviewed me for his regular Unleashed podcast.
You can listen to the interview here. Cheers James!
You can now listen to the first chapter of HATER, as read by Mark Yoshimoto Namcoff.
Huge thanks to Mark for this. Click on the following link to listen…
