For quite a while I’ve been working to get back the audio rights to the original AUTUMN series – AUTUMN, THE CITY, PURIFICATION, DISINTEGRATION, and AFTERMATH. I’m happy to report that the process is complete and audiobook versions are – for the first time ever – in production.
It’s fifteen years this coming October since AUTUMN received it’s mass-market publication in the US and UK. Back then, audiobooks were nowhere near as big a deal as they are now, and the series was never adapted. Fast forward to now, and THE LONDON TRILOGY audiobooks have been a big success for me, so I’ve been keen to make the original books available for folks to listen to.
The wonderful AUBREY PARSONS is onboard, and is already working on recording book one. The current release strategy is for the first book to be released to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the print release in October, and for subsequent books to follow every other month. This will include THE HUMAN CONDITION, which should wrap things up about a year from now. Good luck and best wishes to Aubrey, who has about half a million words of narration ahead of him!
In further good news, my pal CRAIG PATON has given me permission to use his original AMY STEADMAN artwork as the basis for the covers of these new releases. For those who don’t know, Amy is a recurring (deceased) character from THE HUMAN CONDITION. Huge thanks to Craig. A taste of his incredible art can be seen below.
