A few quick Friday updates…

There’s a heck of a lot going on here at the moment, so please forgive this brief Friday afternoon round-up post.

First, this Sunday I’ll be at the Boiler Shop in Newcastle at NERD FRIGHT FEST. It would be great to see some of you there. You can find all the details about the event here.

Second, I’m pleased to be a part of this year’s CHILDREN IN READ event. If you’ve not come across it before, it’s a great initiative that sees a whole load of excellent authors (and me) donating signed books to charity. Please head over to the website, have a look, and bid on anything that takes your fancy. As I write, the total raised has already crossed the £10k mark, and there’s still over a month to go.

And finally, the new issue of SCREAM magazine has just dropped through the door. Yes, the team do send me a copy every month (for which I’m very grateful), but I don’t promote it out of duty. I tell you about SCREAM because it’s my favourite horror mag by a long shot. There’s always something in it for the mature (ie getting on in years) horror fan. This issue, I particularly enjoyed the in-depth article on HAMMER HOUSE OF HORROR, and the interview with HEATHER LANGENKAMP of NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET fame. Find out how to get the mag here.

Here’s Jasper guarding the new issue and stopping me going back to it until I’ve finished my work for the day. I may be some time…
